2023-2024: Executive Board

Jane Pyastolova, Editor-in-Chief

Jane is currently a 2L at the Sturm College of Law. Prior to law school, she graduated with an undergraduate degree in business management with a concentration in consulting, and minors in business ethics/legal studies and Spanish. Jane is also the President of the Air and Space Law Society, Vice President of the Women's Legal Coalition, a Law School Ambassador, and the communications coordinator for the First Generation Student Alliance. She is also a staff editor on the Denver Law Review. Her interests focus on corporate law, property law, and international law which is why she is passionate about space law as an intersection of all the fields together. Jane is excited to contribute to this pioneering field of law in Denver and hopes to pursue a career in big law.

    Leah is a 3L at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. Before coming to law school, Leah earned a BS in Business from the University of Colorado Boulder with an emphasis in data analytics and a certificate in leadership. In addition to the blog, Leah is also the Vice President of the Air and Space Law Society at DU. With her passion for space, Leah is excited about contributing to the nation’s changing aerospace landscape and mankind’s exploration of a new frontier.

    Alex is a 3L at Denver University with a focus on patent law. Alex graduated from the University of Colorado with a degree in chemical engineering. Prior to law school, Alex worked in the brewing, dairy, and algae industries, and has experience working in labs. He’s always had an interest in space technology and research, especially regarding access to space resources. He enjoys thinking about space technology solutions and their legal issues and hopes to work with space technology patents one day.

    Samantha is a 3L student in the Denver Sturm College of Law's Part-Time Professional Program. Before law school Samantha graduated from the University of Wyoming with a BS in Civil Engineering and gained Astronomy experience as a Wyoming NASA Space Grant Consortium employee. While attending law school she works with attorneys in the energy industry. Samantha intends to combine her interests in energy law, engineering, and astronomy to work in the Space Law industry after graduation.

    Anya is a current 1L at Denver’s Sturm College of Law. She received her Bachelor of Arts in English and Literary Studies from DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois. Prior to law school Anya spent a year abroad teaching English in Madrid, Spain. While in Spain, she developed an interest in international and comparative constitutional law. Anya is a Staff Editor for the Denver Journal of International Law and Policy and plans to work in international business transaction and dispute.

Adam Abdelaziz, Alumni Contributor

Adam is a 2023 University of Denver Sturm College of Law alumni. Before coming to DU Law, he earned his Master's in International Relations at the University of Kingston London and his Bachelor's in Political Science at Montclair State University. He was a 2021 fellow at the Foreign Policy Association, where he worked as an associate producer and editor of the long-running PBS program Great Decisions. Adam is especially interested in the intersection of space technology, international law, and culture.
